In the summer Tammy started a new job which seemed to be another part of coping with her limitations. During  summer vacations Tammy worked as a counselor & as a lifeguard & director of the swimming pool of the Hidden Valley part of the Fresh Air Fund summer camp. This was specifically set for children with special physical & mental difficulties, who came to join other children from low income families in the city.

During the months after the summer Tammy continued her plans, not only didn’t she complain, she placed physical & social challenges on herself. As her goal was to learn new & different skills: Capoeira, playing the drums of all kinds, Ambira, Guitar & piano. Everywhere Tammy found her place & did not avoid difficulties. She even went to visit in West Africa with one of those groups.

Through those years Tammy had two knee operations, & continued with treatments.

Indeed, college years were full of experiences, & with them new challenges came up
from time to time, bringing up hard questions about what the future holds.

Graduate school -partly in London

When she decided to take courses in Educational Theater, as part of her Master’s program, it was not a complete new experience for Tammy, neither was it new for her in the school she was teaching by then (PS3). Already in Haifa, Israel, during 1971-72 Tammy was an observer & helper in various exercises organized by Mrs. Bilha Lipkin in the Reali School & in the city. These, especially Leah Goldberg’s An Apartment for Rent was well remembered by her. She recalled these experiences at twenty five years of age…

In the beginning of the nineties Tammy registered for masters in Theater Education, & spent the summer time in intensive course work near London. These left very good impression & the work with the students proved its value.

When she arrived in Israel, Tammy joined a Play Back group, which provided some similar experiences…

Once she joined the Na’amat Technological HS, Tammy found out an appropriate use for her interest in organizing parties & presentations in school special events.
